A great day for a 10K race..

Woke up @ 6 am. Not sure if I was going alone or with 1 or 2 girls.

Planned for solo. Then I heard the cries! Both girls up @ 6:30.

Got to the race and poured the gold fish snacks. We were ready to roll!

The 1st mile was a 9:59 (I am shocked! Pushing a double jogger!) I have not ran a sub 10 mm in about 4 years! Then 10:28, 10:29, 11:06 (stopped to fill water bottle), 10:02, and last 1.2 mile was 13:00. Total time was 1:05:06.

I was VERY pleased with that time!

Let the Learning begin!

Friday we went for a short 5.5 mile run. And what did we see?

We stopped for a Caterpillar. The girls touched the soft, fuzzy fir. Then came a snail and they touched the hard shell. Over the bridge, and to our surprise was three turtles sunning on a log!
We have ran that route for the past 4 years and this is the 1st time we saw turtles!

What a great learning experience the run was!

Watch out...here comes the Mommy....

Up at 5 am on my day off. What was I thinking??!!

The race went very well. About 60 degrees, sunny with a 10-15 mph wind...(not again!) Usually this race is 80-85 degrees and humid...so I was happy it was cooler.

The gun went off and there we went! I posted a 10:10 for the first mile! Holy cow, pushing a double jogger...for me that is EXCELLENT!

The next miles were 10:55, 10:29,10:54, then the last 0.8 mile was 10:10. My oldest fell asleep, but awoke for the finish line pictures. My final time was 52:40 for the 8k which is about a 10:37 mm.

I am very please with that!

Next up, a 10K race on Saturday!

Tomorrow's the race!

Thursday, the girls and I did 11.5. Had to stop @ the 1/2 way mark to let the girls play on the playground. (This wasn't an issue when they were younger and didn't know what a playground was!).

A slow 5 miler yesterday, and the 8K tomorrow.

Sick of being sick...

Well, today I did get in a 5 mile run. Passed a park @ 2.5 mile mark and stop so the girls could play a bit.

Still don't feel 100%...but I did get that run in!

Who needs sleep???

Well, I can already tell you that after the night of getting up with Allison x 2 and Danielle x 1, I will not be working out today.

My night is already planned: after work, come home, feed family, bath night for girls, watch Dora and Diego after bath, put the girls to bed, Dancing with the Stars flicking back and forth with Antiques Roadshow!

What a crazy life I lead!

Done Cleaning....Time of a workout???

Now that the umpth is gone...not sure I have energy now to run or a Turbo Jam video....Maybe after Lunch!

Happy Mother's Day to all!

Well, from running into the wind during yesterday's race (a good leg workout!)...and ignoring the housework...I think I am going to spend the morning CLEANING!

Girls are watching a Barney video...Husband....Not sure where he is...I think picking up in the kitchen....

Catch up later!

My Windy 10K race...

Well, it started out not too shabby. My 1st mile was a 10.24, then 10.43, 11.13,1.45, 12.14, 13.46. Let me remind you that this is pushing 90 #'s of baby jogger with 2 girls in it!

You can tell by my time where I hit the head-wind. I swear it was about 90 mph winds. Seriously it was probably 60-65 mph. (Weather channel reported high wind advisory!)

At least I can say my legs got a good work out today!
